Mission 0: Mustering Forces
Players will start with creating their Crusade Roster. Feel free to come up with your own lore on why your Crusade is venturing into War Zone Dellum.
Chronicle of Isis, personal Chronomancer to Khufu Pharaoh of Sharledon VII.
Finally tracking this breakaway group who call themselves the “Necrotic Nancies” to the planet that is now called “Edennu's Paradise”. Collecting up a small swam of Scarab’s, Wraiths and a few Doomstalkers, we embarked on a quick trip to take care of this tiny rebellion before the awaking of Khufu.
On landing we noticed a small force of those Marines who called themselves the “Rusted Ravagers”. Their forces were scattered and trying to regroup, wanting a bit of target practice, it was time to open up with the mighty Doom canons and wipe this infection off this plant. Our surprise attack took them completely unaware. Scarabs were able to confine their foot soldiers while the trusty Doomstalkers were able to blast away their Vindicators along with the one they called Barry. Sadly the Scarab’s were not able to hold the rest of forces for long enough for the Stalkers to do the same to the rest of them. And the Terminators we were able to destroy found a way to reform themselves and join back in. Furthermore, “Les The Fleshcrafter” was finding it far to easy to squish the wall of Scarabs which was trying to hinder their advance. In the end seeing we lacked the required forces we conceded the battleground. I will have to do some research on how these Terminators are able to “reanimate” themselves.
Before leaving we did a fly past the rabble of Death Guards who I have been monitoring. They seemed to have gotten distracted with their quest to find the thing they kept calling “Craken’s Skull”, instead they had engaged in an ambush towards the new arrived “Golden Procession”. It was a short, bloody battle and unfortunately for “Mortarion’s Menace” their ambush did not go to plan and those “Faithful” sisters drove them back. It will be interesting to see if they continue their search for this relic, or if they are going to seek revenge. I must find time to educate them in the dangers that faith in Gods can have, or we can just terminate them.
On the way off planet one of the sensors in the Doom Scythe did pick up some unusual readings, I will need to remember so release some Wraiths to investigate if its this “Craken’s Skull” or one of the lost shards I am hunting.
Upon arriving back on Sharledon VII, I was greeted with the knowledge that those sneaky “Necrotic Nancies” had doubled back here. It seems that this weak Overload that we used to call brother had gotten themselves involved with a Strike Force of Ultramarines. Even though their reanimation protocols were working extremely well. (If the reports are true, I would say they are working better than ours currently).
While it is amusing to image the faces of those Space Marines as they watched wave after wave of Necrons rebuild themselves mid battle. End the end, the Marines mass firepower was too much to those “Necrotic Nancies” to handle. Their Overload’s Catacomb Command Barge seems to have taken major damage during the battle and as a result his warrior are definitely slower in their march. Maybe we should strike now and finally put an end to this game of cat and mouse.
The last report that came in was regarding some resent action over in Vigold’s Fortress. From what I have been able to piece together from our survey Wraith, it sounds like it was a very odd encounter for more Space Marines, these ones calling themselves “The Lashing Horde” and a troop of those crazy Aeldari, (From memory they are Drukhari) these ones with the markings of “The Red Moon Alliance”. From what I can make of the report, it was a bloody encounter and even though “The Red Moon Alliance” seemed to be the victor, they have sustained damage to a number of their force, while “The Lashing Horde” has been able to regather themselves and seemed to learn something from the loss to their new rivals.
At this stage I don’t think we need to worry ourselves with these new “party goers”, I am sure that word of their love of fighting has already made its way to the local fungi. Those Green Skins are always keen for a good fight…
Either way, its suddenly became very busy around. If things don’t quiet down I may have to start the waking process. Might start with some Destroyer’s, they should make quick work of all our new “Friends”….
Mission 2: The Hunt for “Craken’s Skull”
Chronicle of Isis, personal Chronomancer to Khufu Pharaoh of Sharledon VII.
Massive explosion just happened on the other side of Sharledon VII, our scouts investigated and it was nothing to be alarmed about. Looks like “Strike Force Dellum” have been been increasing their territory with some new armoured garrisons. Before they could fully man their new garrison, the “Golden Procession” lunched an attack force to destroy it. And destroy it they did, many marines and sisters were slaughtered durning the explosion of this half built bunker. Ultramarines reinforcements had no issues clearing out the remaining Battle Sisters, but there is no way they will be rebuilding this rubble. Still unsure on why the “Golden Procession” declared this attack, but it does mean that there is one less outpost we need to wipe out.
Our tracker on the “Necrotic Nancies” alerted me that they had landed on Vigold’s Fortress in a search for a new home base, but they choose a place too close to one of those wild tribes of Green Skins. At the same time the “Necrotic Nancies” were engaged, another wave of Space Marines made landfall, theses ones clad in Green. These new “Dark Angles” combined with the arrival of the local Ork Warboss Jim was too much for the “Necrotic Nancies” and they fled the battlefield. These marines were not so easily scarred away and they had no issues with slogging it out with the Beast Snaggas and that Warboss Jim.
So it turns out that the “Necrotic Nancies” were not running away, their scanners had picked up the same strange readings from PAR, there were two sites both with different type of readings. This is the reason they pulled back from Vigold’s Fortress.
But the first ones to investigate these strange signals were “Mortarion’s Menace” and “Rusted Ravagers” who slowly advanced at each other while the canons from the Vindicator were finally able to find a target in the “Mortarion’s Menace” Defiler. Even with this loss the Plague Marines had finally been able to charge into “Rusted Ravagers” gun line, and were just about to pick up the relic, the source of this signal. Blinding flash of light and strange relic starts to float in the sky, then out bursts of the C’Tan shard of the Void Dragon. And he was not happy. Targeting up both the the mighty “Rusted Ravagers” Vindicators, to releases its might power then charge into the nearest Plague Marine. It was a sight to watch. After a bloody battle the marines were able to banish the Void Dragon back into its shard and the “Mortarion’s Menace” took it was a trophy. We will need to pay a visit to these “Mortarion’s Menace” and retrieved the shard before they try and infect the will of this Void Dragon. He will be ours to control instead.
While this was all happening the “Necrotic Nancies” were zeroing on that second signal. But their presence had attracted the attention of a raiding party of the “Red Moon”. The “Necrotic Nancies” were quick to rush forward to claim the relic as their own. Which seems to have been that “Craken’s Skull” which the “Mortarion’s Menace” have been searching for. As soon as they had secured the relic. There was a blast of warp energy and out jumped a giant Khorne Daemon Prince. Much bigger and tougher than the other ones we have seen. Bobby the Butcher he called himself, and it was clear that he was here to collect the “Craken’s Skull” for himself. As soon as he appeared though, the “Necrotic Nancies” opened fire with pretty much everything they had. Thinking they had at least wounded the beast, the Overlord charged headlong into him. But he was much tougher than the “Necrotic Nancies” calculations. And the overlord was cut down by the Butcher, who then rushed into the blob of Necron Warriors who were holding the relic. Not to miss out on the bloodshed the the “Red Moon” charged into middle of the battlefield as well.
Seeing their overlord so easy destroyed. The “Necrotic Nancies” calculated that their time here would soon be up, so they activated their Veil of Darkness and taking the relic with them they retreated for the second time that day.
Our sensor are now picking up fresh Daemon activity all across Edennu's Paradise. This awakening of the “Craken’s Skull” seems to have attracted a lot more attention than first though.
Pre Mission Alert:
Chronicle of Isis, personal Chronomancer to Khufu Pharaoh of Sharledon VII.
New alert, the “Necrotic Nancies” pushed their dimensional translocation too far when they were retreating. This has resulted in them crashing into a nearby cave on Edennu's Paradise. The impact crashed all their systems, while they were trying to get backline, the “Craken’s Skull” called out to a nearby strike force of the “Sons of Tzeentch”. It was like taking candy from a baby from them, as they boldly walked into the paralysed Necrons and retrieved the “Craken’s Skull”. But who else was the “Craken’s Skull” calling to, how many other forces are on route to retrieve this relic.
Mission Report:
Chronicle of Isis, personal Chronomancer to Khufu Pharaoh of Sharledon VII.
More Marines, theses ones are red this time.
But their landing onto “Edennu's Paradise” came down right into the middle of the great chase of the “Craken’s Skull”. After the “Sons of Tzeentch” were able to steal the “Craken’s Skull” from the crashed “Necrotic Nancies”, “Mortarion’s Menace” and the “Rusted Ravagers” had descended on them before that had been able to secure the relic back in their base. The strike force of Blood Angel’s, “The Blooded” had came down right into the path of the “Sons of Tzeentch”, who gave them a nice Thousand Sons psychic welcome. “The Blooded” then retaliated by striking out at the closest enemy, so most of their force advanced towards the “Mortarion’s Menace”, but they were shaken and failed most of their charges. But “Chaplain Varseus” happy rode his bike into the open mouth of the Maulerfiend, whom really enjoyed his little Blood Angel snack.
“Mortarion’s Menace’s” Defiler struck forward and defiled the Blood Angel’s front line. Destroying their remaining infantry. At the same time the Death Guard gun line opened up and takes out the Maulerfiend (Many of the Plague Marines did manage to blow themselves up in the process). Seeing the Thousand Sons taking damage, the “Rusted Ravagers” opening up fire on their mighty Vindicators they blow holes into the “Sons of Tzeentch’s” Terminator line. Meanwhile the chaos bikers road towards their side quest of blowing up one of the “Sons of Tzeentch’s” buildings. Seeing the massive firepower that the Iron warriors are able to unload. The Sons teleported their remaining Terminators, (Who happen to be secretly holding the “Craken’s Skull”) to the other side of the battlefield. But before they could make it to safety, they had to fight through a herd of Plague Marines. While the Thousand Son’s were trying to make their escape, more of the “The Blooded” arrived. Among them was their mighty Primaris Captain Aphael, who charged headlong nearest Rubric Marines.
Overtime the Plague Marines were able to fight back the Thousand Son’s Terminators and reveal the hidden “Craken’s Skull”. But before they could collect their trophy the “Iron warriors” opened fire again to clear the way secure it for their own. The Thousand Son’s last ditch effect, they brought forth another Maulerfiend with the aim to claim back the relic. Before could though, the Defiler wanted to see what Maulerfiend tasted like and ripped it in two. After his warm up, Captain Aphael threw himself towards the nearest Vindicator and had no issue silencing it. He then turned his attention to the remaining Chaos Space Marines.
As the Defiler charged into the remaining Vindicator it was clear that the “Mortarion’s Menace” would be the victors as they grabbed up the “Craken’s Skull” and retreated back to their lair.
While this carnage has happening. Over on “Vigold’s Fortress” the “Dark Angel’s” were busy setting up their new base, the “Golden Procession” striked out. Again not sure why these Sisters of Battle have so much hatred towards Space Marines. This time they were after the important supplies that the Dark Angles had brought with them. They were not after the supplies themselves, just wanted to destroy them.
The “Dark Angel’s” fought hard, but in the end the “Golden Procession” had no issues to blow up all of the “Dark Angel’s” supplies.
The other reports that are more concerning are all the increased Deamon activity that we keep getting reports about.
Pre Mission Alert:
Chronicle of Isis, personal Chronomancer to Khufu Pharaoh of Sharledon VII.
So, this Deamon has activity has finally resulted in some action. First it was the “Lashing Horde’s” base which was struck. The Emperor's Children stood no chance as wave after wave of Nurgle Deamons ascend upon them. With no place to run, they tried to stand their ground but there was no way they could withstand raw Nurgle chaos energy that washed over them. At this stage we are not reading any none Deamon activity within the area.
The second Deamon strike was again forced on this “Craken’s Skull”. Bobby the Butcher was back, this time with friends. As the “Mortarion’s Menace” were just securing the relic in their home base, these Khorne monsters washed over them. Ripping everything they came across into peaces. From reports, there will be no putting their mighty Defiler back together.
Necritus hackfinger, Plaguecaster of the “Mortarion’s Menace”.
This broadcast goes out to everyone within Vigilus. “Mortarion’s Menace” have fallen, Khorne Deamon have destroyed us and our base. It was clear that they were after the “Craken’s Skull”. This is a mighty relic and we believe that they will try and use it to create a new hole in the rift. Opening up a new entrance for Deamon forces to spill forth into this sector.
Before we were overrun I was able to escape with the relic, I will be able to disable this power that the “Craken’s Skull” is holding. If I am able to do this, the skull will be worthless and the Deamon’s will lose interest in this sector. Without the Death Guard Forces at my back though, there will be no way that I can do this on my own. I am requesting aid from anyone out there.
Mission 5: Short Lived Alliance
They were fools to think that this little alliance could last.
